my hero

My hero of all time is Gandhi. Gandhi is my hero because he was a leader to India's independence without causing any violence.

Hero's journey

Call to adventure: Gandhi's call to adventure wasn't at once. It was over a period of time in South Africa where he was being discriminated against.

Crossing the Threshold: Gandhi started to cross the threshold when we started to refuse to do this because the were racist or against his religion.

Belly of the Whale: When he started activly and openly started resisting the British and supported for India's independence

Hero partners: His wife

Test and Ordeals: When he was getting arrested. Refusing to allow racism to control him.

Journey to the underworld: When he was in jail

Master of two worlds: A hero in South Africa and A hero for India's independence

Freedom to live: Indians got basic rights in South Africa and they got all of their rights back in India

Death of the hero: The massacre in India that had 357 dead and about 1,100 injured after british troops opened fire on innocent people for about 5-10 minutes

Ultimate boon: Gandhi has the power of popularity behind him to support him and his cause for independence in India.

Double Bubble map of Luke and Doug

The main reason why Luke didn't use the targeting system to shoot those bombs down the exhaust pipe was because Ben spoke to him through the force to use it and trust it. Luke did it because he believed in Ben and trusted what he told him. So when Ben said "Use the force Luke," Luke trusted him and shot the bombs using the force. Because he used the force to blow up the death star, Luke became more familiar with it and passed a major milestone with his training.

At times, being a hero is hard and you get forced into it. Like Doug did in Blue Diamond. Doug had a math test that he wanted to study for but his friend Quinn forced Doug into coming with him to save him. You can tell that he was forced into it because he told Quinn no in his kitchen, no in the car, and to pull over. Quinn though made sure that Doug couldn't get out of his car though without hurting himself. In the end, Doug saved Quinn from killing himself, but he was forced into saving Quinn. He never wanted to go with him to Las Vegas in the first place but was forced to do so.

One thing that makes a hero a hero is that they catch something that seems to be unimportant and then it becomes the whole reason to their success. Like when Doug and Quinn were sitting in Quinn's car in the parking garage. The man who was selling the diamond wasn't a very key factor if Doug would have let Quinn drive away. But because Doug saw that Quinn was worried when man was approaching them, he realized that he has to make Quinn scared. He knows this because if he was going to commit suicide, then he wouldn't be worried about what this man was going to do to them. This just shows that what sometimes makes a hero a hero is their ability to pick out a key moment and use it to their advantage.
