1. pg. 33 lines 47-50
Come, you spirits that tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, and fill me from the crown to the toe top-full of direst cruelty. Make thick my blood. -Lady MacBeth
Lady MacBeth has just read MacBeth's letter to her about his crossing with the three witches and she has just been told that the king is going to their house tonight with MacBeth. Lady MacBeth was talking to herself about how she feels like she needs to be more like a man and how she needs to become all evil.
This quote tells how men are very cruel and evil but stronger then woman. How we are cruel enough to do anything and not feel bad about it. And also that we can do more then woman because we have more strength then them.
2. pg 43 lines 53-58
What beast was 't then, that made you break this enterprise to me? When you durst do it, then you were a man; and to be more than what you were, you would be so much more the man. -Lady MacBeth
Lady MacBeth is criticizing MacBeth for trying to talk her out from their plan to kill Duncan to gain Kingship. She feels angry and betrayed by MacBeth.
Lady MacBeth here says that you aren't a man if you back out from your promises. You need to go through with everything that you say that you will or else you are not a man, no matter how evil your promise is.
3. pg 43 lines 60-67
They have made themselves, and that their fitness now does unmake you. I have given suck, and know how tender 'tis to love the babe that milks me. I would, while it was smiling in my face, have plucked out my nipple from his boneless gums and dashed the brains out, had I so sworn as you have done to this.
-Lady MacBeth
Lady MacBeth is now telling MacBeth how much stronger she is then him. How he needs to start acting like a man or become more like her (a woman).
This shows that men have to be able to overcome anything that comes in their way of their goal. Here, Lady MacBeth does it through telling him that she could starve her own new born baby and watch it die if she promised that she would do it.
4. pg 167 lines 10-12
There is Siward's son and many unrough youths that even now protest their first of manhood. -Lenox
Malcolm's army has just arrived at MacBeth's castle. They were thinking of a strategic spot to be in when they started talking about who will be there at the battle
What Shakespeare shows is that the young boys who are in this fight are becoming men by participating it the battle. It shows that to be a man you have to be able to fight and hold your ground for your beliefs and thoughts.
5. pg 187-189 lines 45-48
He Only lived but till he was a man, the which no sooner had his prowess confirmed in the unshrinking station he fought, but like a man he died. -Ross
Malcolm, Ross and Siward were talking about the battle that they won when they realized that Siward's son wasn't alive. Ross told Siward that he had fought bravely and died as a man and not a boy.
This shows that Men can only leave a fight in 2 ways, victory or death. Men cannot run from a fight or they are seen as woman.

Odyssey 3 PIE assignment
For the Odyssey, the theme of the whole book is have good values. This gets demonstrated throughout the whole entire book.
In book 13, this was shown by Odysseus's great wisdom. The value of wisdom allows you to not have desires cloud your thoughts or decisions. Because Odysseus has great wisdom, he was able to realize that if he went running home to see his wife and son (even though the son wasn't home yet), he would be killed instantly by the suitors who have taken control of his home. Because Odysseus has great wisdom and makes wise decisions, Athena recognized him as wise and helped him for it. Athena even says that Odyssues is the wisest of all men on page 296 lines 329-339. "Any man-any god who met you-would have to be some champion lying cheat to get past you for all-round craft and guilee! You terrible man, foxy, ingenious, never tired of twists and tricks-so, not even here, on native soil, would you give up those wily tales that warm the cockles of your heart! Come, enough of this now. We'er both old hands at the arts of intrigue. Here amoung mortal men you're far the best at tactics, spinning yarns, and i am famous among the gods for wisdom, cunning wiles, too."
Book 16 was the next book that showed values being a key factor. In this book it was patients. When Telemachus first saw his father for the first time since he had left for the war in troy. But, because Telemachus was patient enough to listen to Odyssues prove himself on page 345 lines 229-242. " Telemachus, it's wrong to marvel, carried away in wonder so to see you father here before you eyes. No other Odysseus will ever return to you. That man and I are one, the man you see... here after many hardships, endless wanderings, after twenty years I have come home to native ground at last. My changing so? Athena's work, the Fighter's Queen-she has that power, she makes me look as she likes, now like a beggar, the next moment a young man, decked out in handsome clothes about my body. It's light work for the gods who rule the skies to exalt a mortal man or bring him low." Because Telemachus was patient to listen to Odysseus's story, he found out that the beggar was infact his father.
Book 19 is another book that shows values being of great importance. The value was respect. The maid that was to take care of Odysseus insulted him instead of caring for him. The maid did this but Odysseus warned here on pages 392-393 on lines 75-96. "What's possessed you, woman? Why lay into me? Such abuse! Just because I'm in filthy, because I wear such rags, roving around the country, living hand-to-mouth. But it's fate that drives me on: that's the lot of beggars, homeless drifters. I too once lived in a lofty house that men admired; rolling in wealth, I'd often give to a vagabone like myself, whoever he was, whatever need had brought him to my door. And crowds of servants I had, and lots of all it takes to live the life of ease, to make men call you rich. But Zues ruined it all- god's will, no doubt. So beware, woman, or one day you may lose it all, all your glitter that puts your work-mates in the shade. Or your mistress may just fly in a rage and dress you down or Odysseus may return-there's still room for hope! Or if he's dead as you think and never coming home, well there's his son, Telemachus... like father, like son-thanks to Apollo. No women's wildness here in the house escapes the prince's eye. He's come of age at last." Odysseus warned her to respect him but she didn't listen. And because of that, Penelope fired her and then she became homeless as Odysseus had.

Sports Column, "NO RANDY MOSS!"
I think that it was a very bad decision for the Vikings to get Randy Moss again and here's why. First off, Moss is a ignorant person who only does what he wants. If he doesn't like anything relating to his teammates, contract, or god knows what else, he wont try. I can remember sometimes back when we had Culpepper and there were times where Moss would miss a block on an outside run or run the wrong route on purpose. What about those failed one handed catches he always tries to make? He's just sabotaging his own team! Second, he has way to high of an ego. Remember how he would get busted for using marijuana? Mooning the Packer fans? (Personally, this is a special case where I respect Moss for doing something like that) What about the Love Cruise in 2005? He didn't seem very sorry about doing this. Honestly, most people wouldn't. Since he isn't married it really isn't that big of a deal. But it still is breaking the law and he has already done that way too many times. Third, he is a very bad influence. The NFL has been trying extremely hard to crack down on all of the drugs and gang stuff that was happening with the NFL's players. But think about this, how did it get to be such a big problem? Influence is the answer. Players got others to try it and it just kept spreading. Also, you can also teach teammates how to hassle your team and your coach to get what you want like Moss has been doing. Fourth, how hard do you really think he is going to try? Relating this back to my first point about something he doesn't like. He also won't try if he knows that a team needs him. The Vikings right now need a good wide receiver to cover for Sidney Rice since Bernard Berrian isn't picking up the slack. Since he knows that if we want any hope of reaching the playoffs we need to do it through someone, (which is now him) how do you think he's going to respond to that? I think I know how. Brad Childress has made another bad decision and we should get rid of Moss before he messes up our team again!!! (and bread childress!)

EA sports should make a college hockey video game
EA sports should start investing in making a brand new college hockey video game series because it would increase their profits, great experience, and it would be fun. Making it would be a very wise decision if they sell it just right.
In case you didn't know, EA sports is the company that makes half of the sports video games in most of the world. EA sports has been making Madden NFL games, NHL, MLB, FIFA, World cup, College sports. Pretty much any major sport that you can think of, they have made. Well, all but college hockey and college baseball. But that's baseball and as we all know, hockey is way more fun to play and especially more fun to watch.
EA sports should really consider making a college hockey video game. Now some might be thinking that not a lot of people are going to buy this game because it is only popular with a small part of the world. Not true. Granted, I don't think many people south of Missouri are die hard hockey fans (Other then the places where people from the north retire). But you may want to consider that it isn't just the northern states that are hockey fans. Our northern neighbors are some of the best hockey fans that you will see anywhere (other then Minnesota).
I will admit, a lot of people might not buy college hockey in the southern areas. If this is really a concern about loss in profits, then just raise the price a bit to cover the loss. Most hockey fans that I know are passionate about it. I know that I am and a little higher of a price tag isn't going to stop me from buying it and trying it out.
There's also one more thing that I wanna say for my argument. NHL has been making some of the best graphics in the sport's video game industry for a while now. First game realistic looking jerseys, players and referees. Then more control in stick motion and shooting. Lastly, they made 3D fans cheering that don't have twins in another section in the same seat. Think about this, these great graphics getting applied to college life and sporting events and you have got one hell of a great video game. I can't say have had any more fun then going to a college rivalry game.
So if I were in charge of EA sports, I would seriously consider making a college hockey video game series. It will grow and become very popular with a good reputation like college football or NHL. I also would like to play to make the Gophers better then how they have been doing in the past few years.

my hero
My hero of all time is Gandhi. Gandhi is my hero because he was a leader to India's independence without causing any violence.
Hero's journey
Call to adventure: Gandhi's call to adventure wasn't at once. It was over a period of time in South Africa where he was being discriminated against.
Crossing the Threshold: Gandhi started to cross the threshold when we started to refuse to do this because the were racist or against his religion.
Belly of the Whale: When he started activly and openly started resisting the British and supported for India's independence
Hero partners: His wife
Test and Ordeals: When he was getting arrested. Refusing to allow racism to control him.
Journey to the underworld: When he was in jail
Master of two worlds: A hero in South Africa and A hero for India's independence
Freedom to live: Indians got basic rights in South Africa and they got all of their rights back in India
Death of the hero: The massacre in India that had 357 dead and about 1,100 injured after british troops opened fire on innocent people for about 5-10 minutes
Ultimate boon: Gandhi has the power of popularity behind him to support him and his cause for independence in India.

Double Bubble map of Luke and Doug
The main reason why Luke didn't use the targeting system to shoot those bombs down the exhaust pipe was because Ben spoke to him through the force to use it and trust it. Luke did it because he believed in Ben and trusted what he told him. So when Ben said "Use the force Luke," Luke trusted him and shot the bombs using the force. Because he used the force to blow up the death star, Luke became more familiar with it and passed a major milestone with his training.
At times, being a hero is hard and you get forced into it. Like Doug did in Blue Diamond. Doug had a math test that he wanted to study for but his friend Quinn forced Doug into coming with him to save him. You can tell that he was forced into it because he told Quinn no in his kitchen, no in the car, and to pull over. Quinn though made sure that Doug couldn't get out of his car though without hurting himself. In the end, Doug saved Quinn from killing himself, but he was forced into saving Quinn. He never wanted to go with him to Las Vegas in the first place but was forced to do so.
One thing that makes a hero a hero is that they catch something that seems to be unimportant and then it becomes the whole reason to their success. Like when Doug and Quinn were sitting in Quinn's car in the parking garage. The man who was selling the diamond wasn't a very key factor if Doug would have let Quinn drive away. But because Doug saw that Quinn was worried when man was approaching them, he realized that he has to make Quinn scared. He knows this because if he was going to commit suicide, then he wouldn't be worried about what this man was going to do to them. This just shows that what sometimes makes a hero a hero is their ability to pick out a key moment and use it to their advantage.
